Ideal for coffee, tea, and soup, the four 15-ounce mugs in this set are a traditional French shape and have smooth exteriors that make them welcome in contemporary kitchens. They go into the microwave and through the dishwasher without harm to their glossy, lead-free glaze, which does not absorb odors or moisture and is so hard it will not crack, craze, discolor, or scratch. They measure 3-3/4 inches high. Since 1850, Emile Henry cookware and bakeware have been made in Burgundy, where a unique clay is kiln-fired into a ceramic unsurpassed for conducting and retaining heat. Got these for my Mom as a gift and they came quickly and well packaged. She loved them.
These mugs are beautifully designed. However, the set I received must have been seconds. MANY flaws in the glaze. Get these at a store so you can inspect them before purchase.
